During the summer, we host the Contigo Summer Program, a program designed to engage students in middle school and high school in fun and inspiring activities focused on career exploration and post-secondary readiness. Our program includes near-peer mentors who build relationships and friendships with student participants that continue throughout the school year to ensure students have a resource network to help them navigate school and life. If you would like to participate in Contigo or have questions, feel free to contact us or visit us in person.
As adults, we see our role in this work as mentors and guides to support youth in recognizing their assets and leadership skills as well as to identify problems and barriers in order to co-create solutions. We believe that youth should be leading the work, with us guiding and supporting implementation. Positioning our youth leaders as near-peer mentors, our goal is to make sure students and families served through our program recognize their value, feel welcome in Fort Morgan, and feel empowered to advocate for themselves.
